Community Outreach

Program support is needed

Raising awareness about a woman’s need for support and friendship during cancer treatment is a very important part of our messaging. Breast Friends provides speakers and presenters to large and small groups alike. Our presentations include vital medical, social, emotional and physical information targeted to ensuring that each woman is able to get the support she needs. Laced with humor, encouragement and insight, these presentations are an important way for the work of helping women from diagnosis through treatment to continue.

Public Speaking and Appearances

Bringing Our Message of Hope to the community…

Breast Friends is dedicated not only to helping the survivors in our community, but we are also focused on teaching the friends and family how to be a willing participant in her overall recovery. We reach out to the community in the following areas
•    Speeches to civic organizations and clubs
•    Educational presentations at medical conferences and health fairs

Speeches to civic organizations and clubs:
Our co-founders are dedicated to sharing messages of hope with survivors and their support network. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible to share the role they will play in the overall recovery of their friends and family members during cancer. Through personal story-telling and humor, your audience will learn the tools they need to be better examples of support. Talks range from 20-45 minutes and can be customized to meet your group’s specific time commitments.

Health Fairs and Conventions

Meeting Survivors Everywhere

Breast Friends participates in local health fairs and expositions regarding cancer and other women’s issues. It is our mission to develop an awareness of the multiple support options available for women with cancer before they are needed. Women will be better prepared if that time comes and they will be able to support our work on behalf of women who have been diagnosed and are in need of support and encouragement. (Participation is limited to areas with a Breast Friends local affiliate and availability)

Continuing Education

Breast Friends has developed a seminar on “Survivorship.” This program is directed at nurses and other medical professionals. It is approximately an hour in length and qualifies for C.E. credit. (fees apply if travel is involved)
