Community Education and Awareness

Program support is needed

It is an important part of our mission to raise awareness about a woman’s need for support and friendship during cancer treatment. Breast Friends provides keynote speakers and presenters to large and small groups alike. Our presentations include vital medical, social, emotional and physical information targeted to ensuring that each woman is able to get the support she needs. Laced with humor, encouragement and insight, these presentations are an important way for the work of helping women from diagnosis through treatment to continue.

Thriving Beyond Cancer in Your Community

Breast Friends rolls out week-end format of Thriving Beyond Cancer workshop through hospitals and clinics, nationwide.

Breast Friends has been offering 4 week-workshops for several years in Portland, OR. Over the course of time, we have witnessed many women who felt “stuck” after their diagnosis, move to the next stage of life. We recognized that if we could offer this program in a week-end format, and invite partnerships with hospitals as a way to extend their support services to their patients at a fraction of the cost of a full-time program, it would be a true win/win/win. (The patients, the hospitals, and Breast Friends).

This workshop is for women who are
