Thriving Beyond Cancer in Your Community
Breast Friends rolls out week-end format of Thriving Beyond Cancer workshop through hospitals and clinics, nationwide.
Breast Friends has been offering 4 week-workshops for several years in Portland, OR. Over the course of time, we have witnessed many women who felt “stuck” after their diagnosis, move to the next stage of life. We recognized that if we could offer this program in a week-end format, and invite partnerships with hospitals as a way to extend their support services to their patients at a fraction of the cost of a full-time program, it would be a true win/win/win. (The patients, the hospitals, and Breast Friends).
This workshop is for women who are finished with their cancer treatment and ready to move onto the next stage of their lives. Conducted in hospital settings, we will bring our expertise to your patients to help to enhance their “Survivorship” experience. Breast Friends has been at the forefront of helping women survive not only the emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis, but are experienced in helping women move toward fulfillment of their dreams.
The two day workshop will start with an inspirational keynote address by Becky Olson, co-founder. This portion of the program is open to the patient and her friends/family. The rest of the workshop will be for the patient only. Lead by Sharon Henifin, Co-founder, we will focus on key areas of Survivorship including:
- Overcoming Fear
- Positive Psychology-self talk
- Life Balance
- Setting Priorities
- Coping skills
- Life Planning
- Achieving Your Dreams
If you are a hospital provider and would like to extend services to your patients beyond their treatment plan without the major expense of a full-time program, please consider Breast Friends as a resource for providing this much needed program.
