Volunteer Match
A Connection to Someone who Understands
Looking into the eyes of someone who has walked the path after a cancer diagnosis that you are starting down is powerful and healing. Many of our volunteers are survivors and are themselves helped by the act of reaching out to other patients. Volunteers can help you through this difficult time by providing emotional, physical, spiritual and social support. From a shoulder to cry on to meeting for coffee, our volunteers are eager to offer their help. Someone who can listen, who understands the fear and loneliness that comes with a cancer diagnosis, is ready to be there for you.
A Match for Everyone
The volunteer Match program is available for every woman who has a diagnosis of breast, ovarian or other women’s cancer. When a request is made by an individual or a referring organization, our staff assess the individual needs of each patient and suggests a trained volunteer in their area who is a part of our Volunteer March Program. If the patient agrees, a call and a match is made.
Unfortunately, we can only make physical connections in areas where we have affiliates. If you are outside our affiliate areas, we are happy to visit by phone. Please call the national office at 888-386-8048 and let us know you are a patient and would like to speak to someone.
