Public Speaking and Appearances
Bringing Our Message of Hope to the community…
Breast Friends is dedicated not only to helping the survivors in our community, but we are also focused on teaching the friends and family how to be a willing participant in her overall recovery. We reach out to the community in the following areas
• Speeches to civic organizations and clubs
• Educational presentations at medical conferences and health fairs
Speeches to civic organizations and clubs:
Our co-founders are dedicated to sharing messages of hope with survivors and their support network. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible to share the role they will play in the overall recovery of their friends and family members during cancer. Through personal story-telling and humor, your audience will learn the tools they need to be better examples of support. Talks range from 20-45 minutes and can be customized to meet your group’s specific time commitments.
Educational Sessions at medical conferences or health fairs:
Based on location and timing, Breast Friends will provide speakers for your event to talk about Breast Friends, breast and ovarian cancer, the importance of support, and more.
Topics for all events include:
• “Breast Friends…Why We Exist”
• “H.O.P.E – Helping Others Provide Empathy”
• “Getting the Help you need”
• “The Importance of Support and Friendship”
• “Thriving Beyond Cancer”
If you are hosting a health fair or employee event, we will gladly staff a booth and hand out our materials based on available volunteers.
While we provide these resources for free (exclusive of travel expenses) donations or honorariums to Breast Friends are always encouraged. To request a speaker for your next event please contact Becky Olson. Since we rely on volunteers to make these events possible, adequate notice is required.
